Vivere Azure is a 5-star luxury boutique beach resort perched on a cliff in Mabini, Anilao, Batangas, facing the Maricaban Strait—managed by the same group behind the 5-star Vivere Hotel in Alabang. It's about 2.5 to 3 hours from Manila by car via STAR Tollway.

So why would a 5-star luxury beach resort end up being featured on Travel Cheap Asia?

Because sometimes, "cheap" travel isn't about the lowest price—it's about value.

Weekend rates start at 18,000 PHP for two with full-board meals (breakfast, lunch, and unlimited grill night). Book on a weekday with the breakfast-only option, and rates can go as low as 14,000 PHP for two. Both include unlimited use of kayaks and rafts, free snorkeling gear, aqua shoes, and life vests. No need to rent a private boat just to snorkel in the beautiful waters of Anilao.

You also get access to their signature infinity pool overlooking the ocean, welcome drinks, and 5-star service in a serene and exclusive setting.

Casa Beatrice

We stayed at Casa Beatrice, one of the three villas situated above the infinity pool. From these rooms, you get both a pool view and an ocean view.

Aside from a queen bed, Casa Beatrice also has daybeds, a kitchenette, a dining area, and a work space.

The kitchenette has a sink, a coffee maker, teas, and bottled water. There's a mini fridge under the counter (loaded with an assortment of drinks and snacks to be settled upon checkout), and there's a water dispenser just outside the room for access to more drinking water.

They serve really good teas. We brought fresh milk and made tea lattes.

Accommodation

Vivere Azure - Villa exterior guide

Three rooms are available in this villa: Casa Beatrice on the left, Casa Isabella in the middle, and Casa Antonina on the right. These villas have both pool and ocean views and are located near the entrance and parking area, with Casa Antonina being the most accessible room.

Villa rates start at 28,000 PHP, with full board and lodging for two persons. These rooms can accommodate up to 3 pax only. Contact the resort directly if you would like to book the room but exceed the 3-pax limit.

Vivere Azure - Main house

The rooms in the main house, located below the infinity pool, have access to ocean views only. Main house room rates start at 18,000 PHP, going up to 28,000 PHP depending on room type.

Insider tip:

Book on weekdays and you'll have the option to skip the full-board meals, with only breakfast included. This can save you 4,000 pesos. A single meal order costs around 500–700 pesos. Even if you decide to order lunch and dinner, you could still save up to 2,000 pesos.

Insider tip:

This resort is not advisable for senior citizens — there are quite a lot of stairs to get down to the beach. If you're planning to stay mostly at the pool, choose the villa rooms (Casa Beatrice, Casa Isabella, or Casa Antonina). If you're planning for mostly beach activities, book the Elixir or Escape rooms instead.

Vivere Azure - Weekday rate

If I would visit again, I would choose the breakfast-only option. I don't eat much, and the à la carte servings are already too filling for me.

Activities

Enjoy complimentary use of kayaks, life vests, and aqua shoes.

You can also ride a raft to reach the deeper parts of the ocean and enjoy snorkeling. Snorkeling gear is also provided free of charge.

Dining

If you book on a weekend, dinner features an unlimited grill night. There's grilled pork belly, tanigue, and prawns, served with soup, pasta, salad, and dessert. You may also request additional servings if you'd like more.

You may opt for an à la carte meal if you prefer not to have the unlimited grill.

Insider tip:

The grilled dishes were a bit too bland for my taste—perhaps they weren't marinated enough. I'd opt for the à la carte option next time.

Insider tip:

They serve really good pasta—definitely order some if you're a pasta lover, especially their tomato-based dishes.

Breakfast is à la carte. You can choose from the breakfast options on their menu.

Breakfast includes a choice of either hot chocolate or brewed coffee.

Insider tip:

Don't hesitate to use your coffee capsules in the afternoon or evening—you can always ask for more capsules too. Also, the cream cheese french toast is a delight but not very filling compared to other options — it's best ordered as a dessert.

You may also ask for your meals to be served in your room. All rooms have a dining area, although it can be quite dark at night for dining and taking photos, as the lighting is mostly ambient.

You may bring your own drinks with no corkage fee. Wine glasses are available in the rooms, and you can request ice via room service.

If you're unable to bring drinks, there are some available in the fridge, which will be charged upon checkout.

Alternatively, you can enjoy cocktails at their Coco Bar, which offers views overlooking the infinity pool and the ocean.

Parking

A few meters before reaching Azure, you'll find a covered parking area—it's recommended to park here. Otherwise, you'll need to park at the main entrance, which is steep and uncovered, and can be a bit intimidating.

How to get there

From Manila, take SLEX to STAR Tollway. The drive takes about 2.5 to 3 hours depending on traffic. Make sure to turn right after exiting STAR Tollway. We went straight up to the bridgeway and had to take longer winding narrow roads.

Is Vivere Azure worth it?

Five-star beach resorts in the Philippines don't come cheap. Shangri-La Boracay starts at around 19,000 PHP per night. El Nido's Lagen Island Resort goes for 19,500–26,000 PHP. Amanpulo can easily exceed 50,000 PHP. And none of those rates include activities like kayaking, snorkeling, or rafting — those are all extra.

Vivere Azure's weekend rate of 18,000 PHP for two already covers breakfast, lunch, unlimited grill night dinner, welcome drinks, unlimited use of kayaks and rafts, snorkeling gear, aqua shoes, life vests, and access to their signature infinity pool — all in a 5-star setting with stunning ocean views. No hidden charges, no extra fees for activities.

And if you book on a weekday with the breakfast-only option, rates can go as low as 14,000 PHP for two — that's just 7,000 PHP per person for a 5-star luxury beach resort with unlimited water activities in Anilao.

Sometimes the best deal isn't the cheapest room — it's the one where everything is already included. Just bring yourself, and some clothes.
